I'm looking for help and advice.  As a local resident in Chartfield Road, I'm wondering if anything can be done about the late night noise levels outside the club, especially when private functions are being held.

As the functions tend to go on until midnight and are obviously parties, rather then regular nights, the noise outside the club from people smoking or just getting some air can get very loud.

I am fully respectful of the clubs need to sell function nights and to provide people with space to smoke outside and also aware that there are limits to 'controlling' party noise.   (My folks were both publicans!).  However, to help things along...

- Can people be encouraged to use the outside area at the end of the club (rather than the entrance / exit doors on Chartfleid road) as a place to gather / chat / smoke etc?

- Would it be possible to put a couple of signs up in the club asking patrons to consider redisents in the area when going outside, or leaving the club in the evening?

I know that the people that gather outside the club have no intention of causing offense or disruption, but with a young family the noise from a residents perspective can be very unsettling in the late evening.

Gordon has qualified over me because of my holiday and the fact that he's a nice fella. Plus, I told him he only needed 7 against Steve E when in fact he should have needed 8. (He got 7)

If he fails to turn up all his results will have to be removed leaving Dave and Grover as qualifiers and Keri will join them with 6 points from his game against Gordon.

We have had quite a few cancellations recently and I have therefore added an extra week.

If games could get played earlier that would be a great help.

Simon is going to the 20/20 cricket tonight, so anyone who wishes to play Sir Les feel free to jump in. Nick may not turn up and if so I will double up and play Keri.

I am sick of having my enjoyment ruined by inconsiderate parents who use the hall side as a kindergarten.

Banning children is obviously out of the question so how do we combat this? I for one will not come down for the football on a Sunday afternoon again.
